Vision is what you think you would be. What you are now resulted from what your vision in the past. So what is your current situation has been conditioned and influenced by what you've thought and envisioned in the past. Hopefully it was like what I've just said otherwise your life would have been so miserable because you could've experiencing life you didn't expect. Right...?
What you are now is the result of your vision previously thought of or set up that has brought you to your current status of your life.
Although not hundred percent agree with this statement, but yes because of my vision I am now at the situation I've thought I would've been in the future.
I’ve mentioned somewhere in other page within this website that my vision from my teenage was to become an Investor in business.
Just by having this vision, my way of thinking was focused and concentrated to achieving it.
This had begun when I’ve started with relocating myself from rural to urban circumstance, from my home village to city.
The reason I did that, because I did not see any opportunity to develop myself from the perspective of continuing my study to higher schools than just elementary or primary school.
So my paradigm was already been unknowingly driven by my vision of what my future to be. Even though I was unaware of this influence, my life progress was actually been going in that direction of my vision.
Vision Creates Persistence and Determination.
I remembered my parent was questioning me if I’ve thinking carefully of my plan to move from my village to the city where I was planning to continue my study.
I realized what my parent was concerning about. They were always reminding me about our financial difficulties as a traditional farming family, where our income was only seasonal and not regular like a worker or an employee.
My parent was right. It was very-very tough situation for me, when I was already moved and living in that city for continuing my study in Junior and High schools, far from my home village. For about six years, I’ve facing the toughest efforts of my life in pursuing my vision and the future I wanted to be.
During these challenging years, my vision had created persistence and determined character to keep doing what I had to do. I was so focused to finish what I had to finish, especially finishing Junior and High schools.
I’ve always been positive and encouraged regardless of whatever challenges I was facing. Submerging myself into reading newspaper, magazines, books, and Bible during my spare time, and have never had absence from Sunday prayer’s meeting in Church, had become major key factors in growing my persistence and determination.
Keep Going While Accomplishing Your Vision.
Yes, passed the challenges and finished Junior and High schools did not mean I had already reached my destination or accomplishing my vision.
Yes it did not stop here. Another phase of my life needed to be passed too in order to prepare myself for accomplishing my vision as well as achieving what I was thinking about. Only however, at this stage I’ve had a better chance to develop myself for that purpose.
Again for the second time, I had to relocate myself to a bigger city where my brother had pioneered before me.
In this city, I’ve started my first job in a big dam’s project led by Japanese Experts.
Watch The Signals, Green For Your Vision.
After one year of my employment as a construction supervisor in this project, I did not see the relationship with the accomplishment of my vision or my future, so I decided to look for another job.
Whatever the signals, green should be if the opportunity is aligned with my vision or target and red if the chance could be disastrous or distraction to the vision.
So far, without realizing it, “You are what you think” had driven my way of thinking.
When I did not see the relationship of what I was doing with what I wanted to be, I had no willing and no energy to continue doing that job. This was the reason why I wanted to quit this job.
I told my brother about that and asked him if he can find me any job for escaping this job because I felt no utilization of my brain rather than just used my knees and elbows in the project.
Think Smart and Take Action In Line With Your Vision.
With the reference of my brother, I’ve decided to take a new job to handle a small business in mixing, reproducing and or repacking glue materials into dedicated packages of glue products as our finished products for selling.
So I definitely quitted this first job as building supervisor of the project for good.
While for the new job, I actually was recruited to supervise the two employees that has been there running the business since it was first established.
The purpose of recruiting me because the owners (joint venture of three share holders) wanted the business to grow with the plans they’ve been discussing among themselves.
So I started my new job with this company and I was mentored by one of the owner on how to run the business.
I managed to grow this business from employing three people (including me) to handling up to more than thirty employees, in more than four years time.
During this tenure, I managed the whole business process from logistic, warehousing, production process, research and development, products deliveries, administration and production reporting.
I was working hard growing this business and as a result, I’ve enjoyed myself as a one man show in managing this business operation up to the level before I had to resign.
Until the time I quit this job, after more than four years working, the business had more than thirty employees, more and bigger production volume, more trucks and cars in fleet for delivery, moved to bigger buildings three times in order to accommodate the size of the growing business operation.
Avoid Making Decision In Emotional Situation, Reminding Yourself of Your Vision.
To make the story short, I resigned from this business because the company had recruited a manager without my knowledge, and it was so sock and emotional decision I had to make.
Because of this emotional decision, I’ve sacrificed my job and my income was gone. As the result, I couldn’t continue study my courses, not able to finish my degree of study in business management and my life was paused.
Luckily, my lovely wife took over the responsibility for both of us for about seventh months, before I got another job.
Up to this level before quitting this job, the progress of life I’ve made was I’ve taken some courses in relation to my vision and my future to be and I was also studying my third year of business management in STIE (Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi or translated as College of Economic Science), kind of university in economic study.
In English course, I’ve finished Elementary One, Elementary Two, Intermediate, and I was in the Advance level.
In accounting course, I was in the middle of doing the course for one and half year already.
All of the progresses I’ve made were driven by the vision and future planning of my life and as I said above that it was because the mind-set of “You are what you think.” It was a vision.
